Just thinking…
by Rosemary ~ April 23rd, 2007John answered them, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”
We agree with that, don’t we? We have no problem saying with John the Baptist about Jesus, “the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” So how is it that when we are caught in the slow line at the grocery store, or we get a report of cancer, or we have been been slandered by someone we trusted, that we get our hackles up and object to how we’re being treated? It reflects an obvious disconnect if we say we’re unworthy to untie Jesus’ sandal, yet we’re very quick to object and voice complaint about what he sovereignly brings into our daily lives. The same humility we feel at his feet ought to remain with us as we move through each day. Right?
I was just thinking about this as I lay awake last night. I pray that it modifies my approach to the coming week and my response to the challenges that are surely ahead.

I homeschool my 4 wonderful kids that can bring responses from me that just are not filled with humility.
Thank you for the reminder of God’s sovereignty in the day to day life. I pray I can be more humble in my responses and attitudes.
Thanks again for the challenging reminder.
Thank goodness for God’s grace.

His mercy overwhelms me! Whether affliction or joy, all that He allows into my life display His goodness. God grant me faith to display the evidence of Your goodness.
