Deer Whisperer
by Rosemary ~ April 7th, 2008
These guys are senior members of the Buck family that we’re seeing a lot of these days around our home. It looks like one is whispering to the other, something like “There they go again with the camera. Just look right at ‘em and don’t even smile…I wish they’d just leave us alone…” Deer can be a nuisance, but I love watching them. We have a herd of 15-20 that keeps moving around our property, eating anything available. This picture was taken one morning as I was leaving our house. They stayed put and stared at me as I drove away. I hope we can find their amazing antlers when they drop them, and add them to our collection.

Oh my goodness, they are beautiful. We have a sweet looking doe that nibbles her way through our soccer field in the backyard. I love to watch them as well. Those guys in your yard are huge, though. Thanks for sharing the picture.

This photo makes me miss the years we lived in the adirondacks and seeing deer and wild life was part of the day.
God must understand because although we live in the city of Grand Rapids, the condo is in a former apple orchard with many of the trees still here and since we have an end unit we have a small bunch (not a herd), but about 6 deer who run across the side of our place, in the late summer they stop to eat the apples that fall from our trees. Along with the wild turkeys we feel a little like we are back in the mountains.
Thanks for the beautiful reminder, they can be a bother at times but such a lovely reminder of the creativity of our precious God.
